d&b develops innovative compact cardioid in-line array
The new CCL System d&b audiotechnik brings a unique innovation to the compact line array category: broadband directivity control, with cardioid behavior at low frequencies in a passive design, allowing operation with a single channel amplifier.
As the first product of the new serie CL, he CCL system includes revised implementation of the patented design of d&b audiotechnik to carry the cardioid directivity and electroacoustic performance (previously only available on SL series models), a smaller audience areas, with larger installation applications and a wider range of customers.
At the center of the CCL System there is two 7” motors forward facing, of engines 5” sides and rear and two high frequency transducers 1.75” with a totally new design.
It is exclusive approach “It cannot be compared with any product on the market,” the company says.- because it combines superior low frequency quality and broadband directivity control, with exceptional dynamic range of high frequencies and minimal distortion”.
The CCL System has been designed to reduce infrastructure complexity and costs and requires minimal logistics and implementation work. With a compact and lightweight design, uses less space in the truck and fewer amplification and wiring resources in tour apps (touring).
In installation environments, Cardioid low-frequency behavior dramatically improves audible sound quality in both indoor and outdoor venues, while its attractive design integrates into any space.
Versatility in venues
The CCL System follows the recognized concept of d&b and will be available in both touring (CCL) how to install (CCLi), in addition to versions of horizontal dispersion 80° (CCL8) y 120° (CCL12).
Their small dimensions (209x593x355 mm) and his lightweight (18 Kg) make it a versatile and easy to assemble solution in rigging for applications such as corporate rental, local tours or larger festivals and events, in which you can complement SL series arrangements as in-fills o fills sides.
To permanent installations, The CCL System is ideal for theaters, auditoriums, places of worship and other types of more acoustically demanding spaces, such as sports halls or reverberant rooms.
“d&b audiotechnik continues to be at the forefront of cardioid speaker system design - says Santiago Alcalá Baillie, your speaker product manager-. With the CCL System we respond to market demand for a compact and lightweight system that brings the incomparable advantages of cardioid technology to a broader range of applications., and makes our iconic technical solutions accessible for a wider variety of installations and events.”.
Besides, the new CCL-SUB, and hanging subwoofer Available in versions for touring and permanent installation applications, complementary to the CCL System. Passive cardioid design features a 15” front motor and 10” rear motor configuration.
This subwoofer offers Port noise reduction and expanded bandwidth and usable, especially when implemented in mixed arrangements with the CCL System. Both they can use with 40D amplifiers, D40, D80 and D90, supporting up to eight speakers per amplifier in any combination to deliver full output level, no dynamic range restrictions. Settings are also available for amplifiers 30D y D20.
The CCL System will be available in the first semester of 2025, so good&b audiotechnik will show it for the first time during its participation in this year's fairs NAMM e WHEREAS, in which visitors will be able to experience its performance.
