Gran Canaria Mobility Control Center, a project with Gesab and LG

The company specialized in the design and integration of critical environments, Gesab, has completed with LG the modernization of the Gran Canaria Mobility Control Center, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a project developed for Transport of Gran Canaria (TGC).

This project aims to evolve the operational management of public transportation on the island through a centralized system, Robust and ready for real-time decision making. The new center was created to supervise and operate the island's regular transportation system, incorporating capabilities that were not previously centralized and offering room for growth to expand positions and functionalities in the future.

The center will allow centralize the supervision and coordination of public transportation regular on the island, allowing real-time monitoring, a more agile response to incidents and faster and more informed decision making. This new space has been conceived not only to respond to current operational needs, but also to evolve in line with the future challenges of mobility.

The operating room includes thirteen operating positions predicted, with around eight currently in use and clear room for growth as service needs increase. This scalability is key in mission-critical environments, where the infrastructure must guarantee continuous availability and efficiency, while adapting to new services, extensions, increase in demand or integration of new sources of information.

Gesab has been responsible for the global integration of the operating environment, applying its experience in critical rooms to ensure safe operations, efficient and continuous. Beyond physical deployment, Gesab's focus has been on aligning technology, space design and management systems with the real workflows of operators, ensuring that critical information is always available in a structured way, clear and actionable.

The project has been developed with a clear objective: provide Transport of Gran Canaria with a center capable of operate 24/7 with maximum reliability, also offering the flexibility necessary to incorporate new tools, operating procedures and future growth without compromising system performance or human team comfort.

Visualization and control with DeskWall

As the technological axis of the project, Gesab has implemented DeskWall, your visualization and control platform, that allows manage information and signals in a structured way of the transportation system, avoiding data crossings and improving operation efficiency thanks to advanced functionalities and role profiles.

Besides, The change to the new platform was carried out smoothly thanks to the onboarding process designed by Gesab, who trained the operators and maintains close support to ensure maximum use of the system.
DataWall: advanced signal management for dynamic and decisive visualization

The room also incorporates DataWall, he advanced video wall manager from Gesab, that allows dynamic information management, providing high signal quality from the sources and favoring a clear and resolution visualization, key in mission critical environments. This capacity is especially relevant when integrated with the videowall MicroLED de LG, con 0.9 mm de pixel pitch, which acts as the main display element of the center, allowing multiple signals to be displayed simultaneously (maps, cameras, telemetry and operational dashboards) with great clarity and reliability for decision making in real time.

Ergonomics and performance

The ergonomics of the operating station was an essential requirement from the beginning of the project, given the rotation of shifts and the demand for concentration during long shifts. In this sense, The design of the center has been planned from a comprehensive perspective, taking care of both physical ergonomics and visual ergonomics, two determining factors in critical environments where sustained attention and rapid reading of information reduce the risk of error and improve response capacity.

For this, Gesab has installed 13 consolas Advantis New Generation single position, Designed with large top panels for healthy placement of two monitors per operator, guaranteeing a correct arrangement of screens, distances and viewing angles. Besides, the sit system has been incorporated & stand, that allows you to alternate sitting and standing work, promoting comfort during long shifts.

This visual ergonomics also extends to the global display of the center, thanks to LG's MicroLED video wall, whose high definition facilitates clear reading of data and signals from different positions in the room, reducing eye fatigue and improving immediate interpretation of critical information shared, especially in high workload situations.

Stand out, finally, that the project incorporates professional display technology from LG, integrated by Gesab within the center's operational ecosystem, allowing the critical information is clearly available, continuity and reliability for decision making. This joint integration approach, operation and ergonomics by Gesab, along with LG's professional display solutions, has allowed us to provide the Control Center with a technological environment aligned with the most demanding standards. The final result is a critical environment completely adapted to the needs of Gran Canaria Transport and that meets its strictest ergonomic requirements., security, health and technology.
