Disguise Omnical Top Of The Rock 2

Version r32.4 of the camera-based projection calibration system Disguise, OmniCal, launches important improvements aimed at adding flexibility to operators, improve system accuracy and resolve problems more quickly, which are materialized in the RigCheck API for recalibration of fixed installations.

The workflow RigCheck stands as one of the main attractions of OmniCal. The solution allows the user to recalibrate and compare the live camera images with those of a previous capture to check if the OmniCal cameras or projection surfaces have moved, a recurring problem in facilities such as museums or theme park attractions.

Now, OmniCal version r32.4 offers a new tool to facilitate this recalibration process without the need for a qualified Disguise operator to be present: the RigCheck API. During system startup, An operator can configure the API to activate automatically at a predefined time from a controller or a dedicated application, which allows non-specialized professionals to activate the system from a similar interface.

Disguise Omnical Top Of The RockThe RigCheck API was originally developed for tourist attraction Top of the Rock (New York) of The Hettema Group, The Fury, PNM Designs y Electrosonic. The project required a Fully automated calibration workflow, that could operate reliably without technical supervision, even with building vibrations and heavy foot traffic. Via API, the system works autonomously no time inactivity in technical intervention.

OmniCal r32.4 also includes new features such as an optimized metric that makes it easier to calibration quality evaluation and comparison between different plans and RigChecks; advanced diagnostic imaging, that allows detecting automatically defocused camera lenses; the new list editor AlignmentPoint para QuickAlign, which provides a quick view of the current status of the lineup; and disk space manager, which makes it possible to delete old unused RigCheck results, or the ability to apply OCIO transformations to generic content.
