Panasonic enters the world of mobile virtual operators
At MWC, Panasonic has announced its entry into the world of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) to connect your devices to an M2M cloud. The first product to use this network will be the Nubo video surveillance camera that does not require a WiFi connection.
Panasonic has taken advantage of his assistance to Mobile World Congress, that is being held in Barcelona, to explain how it is going to integrate mobile connectivity into all its product lines so that all devices access the new services offered by the M2M cloud, like remote monitoring, data collection or analysis.
The global virtual mobile network operator project (MVNO) comes to complement an internal project of this type developed for the Japanese market and launched in October 2014.
“Our new M2M network is the beginning of a strategic transformation. It is the first step in introducing M2M capability into our product portfolio and helping customers increase the intelligence of their infrastructure and business processes., reduce your costs and immobilized investments and improve your customer service”, explains Masaki Arizona, Managing Director de PSCEU.
Cloud: 4G mobile video surveillance
The first product to use the M2M network will be the Panasonic Nubo video surveillance camera with 4G mobile connection. A device that has also been presented at the fair and can be deployed in different locations and used for very different uses without the need for power or a WiFi connection..
Nubo will be marketed together with a mobile control and supervision application, different add-ons such as external batteries and sensor packs, and a secure cloud storage system that allows you to easily manage data and videos.
“Our connected projects increasingly converge Panasonic's tradition linked to the traditional consumer market with our growing B2B approach.. Panasonic Nubo is an example of this type of transversal products: uses M2M technologies, but is aimed at customers looking for freedom and flexibility in terms of use and deployment”, add Arizona.
M2M Services
Panasonic has also announced M2M services that take advantage of the mobile virtual network such as the remote control function of the manufacturer's projectors and displays that also allows essential performance data to be transmitted to the cloud, such as on and off status or lamp life and temperature. In this way it is possible to guarantee predictive maintenance and optimize the useful life of the product..
Tasks such as changing lamps, Filter cleaning or maintenance is organized automatically and can even be outsourced and delegated to Panasonic. An example of this is the case of Cardiff University., where the manufacturer remotely monitors the projectors from its European service center, located in south wales, to ensure an uninterrupted learning environment.
Besides, Panasonic Heating and Cooling solutions can also be monitored and controlled remotely through this M2M network, keeping products up and running for as long as possible and achieving savings in terms of energy and carbon emissions..
