National Amusements installs Sony 4K projection solution for its XPlus screens

The cinema operator has selected three Sony SRX-R515DS 4K projection solutions for its new Premium XPlus large format screens, under a five-year managed services agreement.

The newly renovated XPlus auditorium at Lux Reading's Showcase Cinema multiplex in the National Amusements, South of the United Kingdom, has selected the new PLF 4K projection solution from Sony, with the installation of three SRX-R515DS systems with this technology on its Premium XPlus displays from 18 metros, which are complemented by a Dolby Atmos system to create immersive three-dimensional sound.

The supply of the SRX-R515DS solution to National Amusements also marks Sony's first managed services contract with a US operator. During a financing period of five years, The company offers this exhibitor its own projection system, in addition to the installation, technical assistance, system updates, spare parts and energy-efficient HPM lamps from this supplier.

SRX-R515DS Dual 4K Projection System

Sony SRX-R515DS combines two Sony SRX-R515 projectors and provides reference lighting levels for 2D presentations on screens up to 19,5 metros, for white screen operation with gain 1,8, as well as for 3D presentations on screens up to 23 metros, for silver screen operation with gain 2,4 (depending on installation conditions).
