The Eiffel Tower will become a great virtual artistic manifestation to safeguard the environment
On the occasion of COP21, of the 28 from November to 3 December the Eiffel Tower will launch the 'One Heart one Tree' initiative. Anyone who comes to the Parisian city will be able to plant a virtual tree, from your smartphone, and see how this action becomes part of a real reforestation project.
From the 28 from November to 3 December, Operation 'One Heart one Tree' (a heart a tree) will propose to visitors who come to Paris to plant a virtual tree, through their smartphones, at the Eiffel Tower and, in this way, get a real tree planted in different parts of the world.
This is an initiative conceived by the digital artist Naziha Mestaoui and is part of the artistic manifestations that will take place on the occasion of the World Climate Conference (COP21) which is organized in the French capital.
For this project, an application has been designed that records the heartbeats of the participants and it will be this signal that allows the seed to become a virtual tree whose image will be projected for a few seconds on the iconic Parisian monument.. In addition, The names of the participants will also be briefly displayed.
The monetary return will be reflected in the fact that each virtual tree will be paid, depending on the species, between 3 y 10 and this money will be used in reforestation projects that are managed by the French association Pur Projet . Besides, Participants will receive a certificate and will be able to follow the evolution of their tree.
One Heart, One Tree
‘One Heart, One Tree' is a project that is part of the spectacular artistic initiatives that will be developed in Paris on the occasion of the celebration of COP21, among which is 'Human Energy'.
This show will take place between the days 5 y 12 December and will turn the Eiffel Tower into the headquarters of human energy. An initiative that will be led by the French artist Yann Toma and that will propose that the public become 'human generators'. “I seek to create the greatest work of art that has ever been made with such a participatory nature.””.
The objective is for each citizen to become a human generator, whether walking, dancing, rowing, riding a bicycle or using any type of device that produces energy and which will be located at the base of the Eiffel Tower. Thanks to the energy accumulated by these 'human producers', from time to time this emblematic monument will light up.
Another spectacular initiative will take place 20 al 28 November. A fresco in the shape of a giant sphere of 10 meters in diameter will be suspended between the first and second floors of the great tower. A work that will bear the signature of a great American street-art artist’ whose name has not yet been released.
