Sony MCX-500: all-in-one video mixer for educational and business productions

Developed as an all-in-one mixer, Sony MCX-500 is a powerful and affordable multi-camera solution for production in educational and business environments, as well as at events or places of worship, that the company has presented at the BIRTV fair (stand 8B01 y 2A243), which is celebrated until next 27 August in Beijing (China).
James Leach, marketing manager of Sony Europe, points out that “regardless of the magnitude of a live production, We know that users demand emissions performance. MCX-500 is designed for those applications where the system must be affordable and easy to use, but without sacrificing flexibility or quality”.
Sony MCX-500, whose availability is scheduled for January 2017, is a four-channel video mixer that gives users the option to choose from nine inputs, including 4x3G-SDI; 2x HDMI y 2x CVBS, plus an additional RGB input available for title overlays.
The user can connect a wide range of video cameras to the MCX-500, For example, the company's XDCAM or NXCAM professional cameras and consumer equipment. The system has PinP and Keyer overlay functions, a wide variety of transition effects, four-channel video and five-channel audio inputs, including XLR and integrated audio from SDI or HDMI, as well as Sony broadcast video switcher functions (serie MVS), like the chroma key algorithm with professional quality.
Another notable feature is that the MCX-500 has also been designed to adapt to multiple workflows.; since it allows recording live images (PGM) with AVCHD formats without the need for an external recorder, allowing users to edit or distribute the video recording as soon as it is finished.
Besides, Integration with Ustream allows users to easily stream live event recordings over the Internet. There is also the option to use a remote control UI from an external computer or tablet, ideal for live recording tasks with a small number of people.
