‘Talking’ audiovisual sculpture with Christie projection wins Arup creative competition
Four Q Series projectors from this manufacturer have played a key role in the creation of this innovative 'talking sculpture' in the form of an audiovisual installation in the recent annual competition that this global consulting firm, engineers and designers organize at their headquarters.
The dynamic audiovisual and sculptural element of DaeWha Kang Design has been the winning work of No.8@Arup, the annual competition Arup organizes in order to show innovative and cutting-edge creations at its headquarters.
It is a unique structure that reflects, in the form of an audiovisual installation, the transfer of Arup's digital social network. For this, four Q Series projectors from Christie, which are a fundamental element to display Arup messages on the business social network Yammer, projecting them on acrylic 'sheets' that, hanging from cables, make up the installation displayed in the lobby of the company's London office, and that can be seen from various spaces and work points of the building.
In an innovative and accessible format, This work reflects the countless interactions that take place daily between the different offices that the company has throughout the world.. With a brightness of up to 10.000 lumens and projecting with great clarity and vivid colors, Serie Q teams easily tackle the complexities of the Arup concourse: a space with light contrasts, spacious and diaphanous.
Especially indicated for this type of applications in large and complex spaces, Christie Q Series is a dual-lamp, solid-state 1DLP projection solution that combines versatility, economy and high performance. Extremely quiet operation, Its discreet design and reliability ensure that attention is focused solely and exclusively on the aesthetic values of the installation, just as its developers point out.
This is what James Belso points out, Christie's senior sales director for the UK and Nordics: “We fell in love with everything in this project: since the winning idea incorporated audiovisuals to make a 'talking sculpture', because there were so many professionals collaborating in its design and installation. Heart of Arup posed the challenge of projecting content onto acrylic pieces suspended in a stairwell that was bathed in natural light., circumstance that required the projection to be very bright and a superior image quality, and that it was capable of operating without interruption for long periods of time”.
Design encourages Arup staff to communicate via the company's Yammer collaboration platform. The dynamic structure is the result of the work of a multidisciplinary team, led by Laura Sims, con materiales y conocimientos adicionales de Base Structures, MEC, Aalco y White Light.
Según han comunicado sus responsables, esta creativa instalación está diseñada para incorporarse, si así se decidiera, a un emplazamiento más permanente, haciendo así posible una integración total entre el espacio físico y el digital.
