Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano stadium, headquarters of Atlético de Madrid, has become thanks to the technology implemented in the venue and in the associated facilities, like control systems, visualization and security, the first of its kind 100% IP in Europe.

This advance is the result of the collaboration agreement with the rojiblanco club, why Telefónica becomes a technology supplier to the Wanda Metropolitano, just as advanced Digital AV, with the supply of communications and connectivity in the stadium itself and in the aforementioned facilities.

Telefónica has provided this sports complex with all the necessary communications and connectivity infrastructure in the stadium and all associated facilities., like the ICU (Integral control unit), video markers and ribbon board 360 of LG, the elevators, security (access control inside the stadium, closed circuit TV, video surveillance cameras), as well as in audiovisual production rooms, among many other dependencies.

Wanda Metropolitano Atletico MadridThe installation of this equipment is already underway and has for the moment involved the deployment of the Ian multiservice network (network electronics that provide connectivity to the stadium) and WiFi, with more than 6.000 network sockets; 1.500 wireless access points; 1.000 kilometers of fiber; almost 500 kilometers of UTP cable; two data processing centers (CPD); 84 communications nodes; a double diversified MacroLAN access of up to 10 Symmetric GB; a switching device and a transmission device.

Wanda MetropolitanoBesides, The security requirements of the Wanda Metropolitano include an access control system that covers more than three hundred internal doors; its integration with the stadium's evacuation and fire system; closed circuit television (CCTV), composed of more than 120 network cameras, and the stadium's complete anti-intrusion system, all managed from the Comprehensive Security Control Unit, provided by Telefónica.

As pointed out by the operator, “This is the first phase of a project that contemplates in the near future offering a comprehensive customer experience in the field of communications and covering all types of events, not just sports ones”.
