Edge Hill University creates flexible learning space with Panasonic

Each of them has a conference recording system that combines AW-UE70 4K remote cameras, with laser projectors and Panasonic screens 65 inches (65LFE8), plus the all-in-one video platform Panopto. Teachers can control lecture recording using a controller Extron, which allows you to start and stop recording.

“We were concerned that there would be a decline in attendance at the conferences, but the opposite has happened. More and more students are attending conferences, and we believe it is because they can concentrate in class without having to take notes.”, afirma Don Moffatt, director of the Department of Media Technology Development at Edge Hill University.

The three conference rooms can also be combined into a single auditorium, providing a capacity for 900 personas. This is used for large events, including the university graduation ceremony.

Medical excellence

Throughout the Faculty, Panasonic AW-HE2 remote cameras are used to record the practical aspects of the Department of Surgery Physician course (ODP) from the university and stored in the cloud-based Panopto system.

“A classic example is an exercise that I carry out with all groups of students, in which I try to touch the body of a 'patient' who is about to go into arrest during CPR. From a safety point of view it is vital that the group is aware of the people who are closest to the patient, but often the group is too focused on its individual functions to notice.
