DFW Duty Free implements spectacular digital signage infrastructure
Three NanoLumens curved LED screens have been installed in this store in Terminal D of the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport., two multi-panel LCD video walls, six independent LCDs and 50 iPads mounted on a table.
Passengers arriving at Terminal D at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) They find a new shopping experience in the Duty Free store. Occupying a space of more than two waiting areas (about a quarter of the total space in Terminal D), It looks more like a mini shopping center than an airport store.
High-tech solutions, installed by Ford AV, They are key to maintaining an optimal shopping experience. The most striking installations include three enormous curved LED screens of NanoLumens that allow advertisers to capture the attention of everyone who passes by.
According to Ford AV project manager, Sean Merchant, The owners of the Duty Free wanted to use the latest technologies to attract customers and create a space where people would enjoy. “This may be the only store of its kind in the world. How many airports have a promo pod’ where products are displayed within an enveloping LED screen of 3,2 meters high? It is an incredible advertising opportunity for brands, a sales controller for the store and a unique and fun shopping experience for customers”.
The 'promo pod' is a space surrounded by a 5.5 NanoLumens Led screen×3,2 meters and a pixel pitch of 4 mm. This solution creates a video experience of 180 degrees around a central pillar where product samples can be placed. Advertisers use Led wrap to attract travelers.
In addition to the 'promo pod', two curved screens have been installed, also from NanoLumens, of 3.6×2 meters and the same pixel pitch as the previous one. These are located on top of a product kiosk along the main terminal walkway.. Due to its size, location, position and incredible clarity and brilliance, They are visible to almost all visitors to the terminal.
“There is a lot of visual technology in this store, but the most notable are the NanoLumens screens. There are video walls behind the exit counters and iPads mounted on the tables so passengers can entertain themselves while they wait., but nothing comparable to these huge screens. There are also two bright NanoLumens displays that can be viewed from 30 meters away”, aclara Merchant.
The primary function of NanoLumens displays is to be displayed as an advertising medium that gives brands a much greater impact than a print ad or a standard gift shop kiosk.. They operate 7 days of the week and provide Duty Free with a constant stream of advertising revenue.
In total, Ford AV has installed three NanoLumens curved Led screens, two multi-panel LCD video walls, six independent LCDs and 50 iPads mounted on tables. Most of the latter are interactive and can be found in the elegant area, which looks more like a luxury lounge than a terminal.
