The company LumenAd, based in Seville, has purchased two laser projectors Christie Crimson for your digital out-of-home projects (DooH), with a few size characteristics, Image definition and dynamism hitherto unheard of in the outdoor advertising medium.

LumenAd proposes video projection for outdoor advertising as an alternative to current media (paper, Vinyl, Canvases, LED,..), "Bringing to the market a new form of high-quality advertising with a more versatile and non-aggressive integration with the environment", As they say.

The company has named this development Big Brand, A stand premium Aimed at large brands that want to strengthen their image with a "differential" proposal, quality and respect for the environment".

blankThis is how Alfonso Callejas explains it, CEO of LumenAd, "In addition to the fact that by size, Image quality and versatility: video projection ensures flawless viewing in DooH projects, It also brings great advantages due to its qualities of environmental sustainability and non-aggressive integration into the urban landscape".

The company is already using two Christie Crimson projectors in a DooH installation on the façade of the well-known Galia Nervión building, located in the commercial heart of Seville. The screen presides over the intersection of two very important avenues in the Andalusian capital, that support huge vehicle and pedestrian traffic all year round.

From a technical point of view, The installation is an international milestone given its complexity and novelty. There are three buildings involved: Two of them house the projectors on their roofs, while the third (Galia Nervión) Acts as a projection screen. In no case is it occupied by public roads and the equipment is not visible, so the integration into the urban landscape is perfect.

The result is a 460 m2 (40 meters wide and 11,5 high) fullmotion, with a resolution of 3,840×1.080Q, covering part of the west façade and part of the south façade of the building. To this end, the following are used: 50.000 lumens provided by Christie's two Crimson projectors, WUXGA resolution (1.920×1.200Q).

One of the 'projector buildings' houses, In addition to these systems, the content broadcasting team and the management and monitoring team. Everything is automated and remotely managed. The video signal is sent wirelessly to the second projector (A single source of content), so that both screens are synchronized (In short, it is a broken screen 90 Degrees backwards down the center).

To place projectors outdoors, LumenAd has developed a special housing that takes into account all humidity conditions, ventilation, Waterproofing, Etc. The projection distance of both devices to the screen is around 50 M. and the distance between them is 90 M. The screen can be viewed from the 10 up to the 300 metre.

This system works at night; It renounces its operation during the hours of sunshine to be activated at nightfall, making messages stand out in the urban environment in a clear way, complying with current environmental regulations regarding the maximum luminance of information carriers at night. Some of the brands that have already relied on this support are Telepizza, Motorola, Vodafone, McDonalds, Beefeater, Etc.

"Unlike brackets with LED technology, who tend to work with low resolutions," Callejas points out, here we broadcast at least in High Definition (Hd) with the ability to do so in 4K, ensuring a flawless display of the brands".

The commitment to Christie Crimson laser projectors was clear: "I would say the main reason is lamp consumption," he adds. Calculator in hand, If you consider a facility running an average of five hours a day during the 365 days of the year, Need 4,5 Lamps (400 hours, without rushing them). the 20.000 Hours of life for these projectors, even halving them, This is a very considerable cost saving, even more so if you multiply it by two, as is our case".

In addition, The CEO of LumenAd points out that this decision has also been influenced by "the requirements of electricity consumption and ventilation, Crimsons compared to Roadsters. This is very important to us, Considering that we have them working abroad, inside a self-manufactured housing, and it allows us to better control issues such as the humidity within it. Another point is its electronics, Very accurate, with integrated Christie Twist, Equipment Status Information, and more".

Callejas highlights "the magnificent advisory work of Julio España and Jorge Vilaplana on behalf of Charmex (partner of this manufacturer who supplied the projectors), as well as Marcos Fernández and Carlos Lachica on behalf of Christie Spain".
