The Xunta de Galicia deploys a tele-education platform during the Covid-19 crisis

The deployed platform provides access to the remote educational service to more than 30.000 teachers and more 300.000 students. Operational with Cisco Webex Meetings technology has been implemented by Amtega, with the support of Satec.

The Department of Education of the Council of Galicia, with the promotion of the agency for the technological modernization of Galicia (With offices), has made a tele-education platform available to teachers and students so that they can continue their work electronically, whenever, place and accessing it from a wide variety of devices (computers, smartphones, tablets…).

The main functionalities of the platform allow: create virtual collaboration rooms (classes) to carry out video conferences, work or training sessions. They can share documents and use virtual whiteboards, as well as ask questions to the teacher, send instant messages to participants, control devices remotely and record sessions for later viewing.

More than 33.600 virtual classrooms or rooms. Its operation can be managed and monitored in technical terms through reports and control tools provided by the platform itself.. Besides, all communications take place securely over encrypted channels.
