Meyer Sound Ultra-X40: a versatile speaker suitable for many verticals
Whether in portable or fixed installations, in worship centers, clubs, theaters or tours, This point source speaker has been key in sound infrastructures.
The Ultra-X40 point source loudspeaker Meyer Sound has gained wide acceptance in demanding portable and installed sound applications, both in worship centers, clubs and corporate events, tours and festivals.
One of the first temple installations with these enclosures was at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington. (Illinois). TC Furlong Company of nearby Lake Forest, supplied five Ultra-X40 loudspeakers to support special events.
The same technology was supplied by Octane Audio to City Church, en Bartlesville (Oklahola). In this case the Meyer Sound point source loudspeakers, brand that distributes RMS Pro Audio, They serve as outfills and delays within a larger system of the same brand.
Facilities
The Ultra-X40 loudspeakers were also selected for the main and delay systems in a complete renovation of audio equipment at the international conference center Austria Center Vienna (ACV).
This is currently the largest permanent installation completed with Ultra-X40 systems, with a total of 34 speakers in seven different rooms.

Clubs and corporate events
These Meyer Sound equipment can also be found as sidefills in a small CenterStaging room, Southern California's premier testing facility.

Tours and festivals
For the edition 2019 of the Montreux Jazz Festival, Ultra-X40 systems served as the primary audio source at two of the smaller sites: La Coupole in House of Jazz and Terrace ibis MUSIC.
La Coupole hosted jam sessions until the wee hours of the morning, with participants like Janelle Monáe, Rag’n’Bone Man, Lizzo and Jon Batiste. Precise control of coverage was a key factor due to the time slot of performances, from one to five in the morning.
According to the FOH engineer, Fanny Gaudin, “add the Ultra-X40 to the team, with its extended frequency response and dynamic range, along with horizontal mounting option, allowed us to reduce the SPL measured in 5 dB compared to last year and get an even better response from the audience”.
At the Lockn Festival, not Virginia, Ultra-X40s supplied by DBS Audio Systems provided seamless outfill coverage for the Leopard systems used on the Garcia's Forest stage and the Super VIP tent.
“Last year, We deploy different speakers as outfills on each stage – clarifies Dave Brotman, president of DBS – but this year we used the new Ultra-X40 with great success. From the point of view of systems engineers, They were the perfect complement for Leopard. Commissioning of the filling systems at both sites was quick and easy”.
An electric macro festival Roskilde, in Denmark, A large supply of Ultra-X40 was deployed to reinforce delays and front fills, in addition to serving as reference monitors in the FOH mixing stations.
A couple of these teams were also present as FOH monitors, on J Balvin's last North American tour.
“The Ultra-X40 gives me a very accurate representation of the main arrangements – says the FOH engineer, John Buitrago–. They have been a great help when there is a lot of crowd noise, and especially during the second part of the show, when large inflatable elements often get between me and the main PA arrangements. The transition between the two sources is seamless”.
Broadway
“Moulin Rouge! The Musical” has also served as the premiere of the Ultra-X40 on the Broadway stage. When production moved from Boston to New York, the team wanted to incorporate more low profile speakers to allow a better view of the stage. The Ultra-X40 was ideal for this role.
