HDL300 audio conferencing systems have been installed in 75 of the classrooms and the objective is to expand the project to the rest of the campus.

Nureva at Duquesne University

The Duquesne University, located in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania) has installed audio conferencing systems Nureva in 75 of its classrooms and plans to expand this project and implement these solutions throughout the campus. The goal is to help students learn in a hybrid training environment.

This educational center has provided more than 40 classrooms with HDL300 audio conferencing systems and are being implemented 32 additional systems.

SMARTSolution Technologies, an authorized Nureva dealer, has supported the university in its search for an audio conferencing system that allows students to learn in a hybrid environment, in which some are in the classroom and others participate in distance learning.

Before the COVID-19 outbreak, Duquesne was using several Nureva systems that they acquired at the end of 2019 and principles of 2020. Once the need to shift to a hybrid learning model became evident, the university installed other 37 units specifically for those classrooms. More recently, has implemented a Dual HDL300 system in a room that simulates a court at the Faculty of Law.

They have been in charge 32 additional units, with plans for a campus-wide deployment of Nureva audio systems. Because wall-mounted systems are easy to install in less than an hour, classroom technology specialists installed all units themselves.

Since August 2019, before COVID-19, Academic Affairs - which includes faculty and technology teams- has been working to create HyFlex, an educational experience that provides students with both in-class and remote instruction during the fall semester.

HDL300 systems are powered by Nureva Mist microphone technology, providing the full-room microphone coverage needed to meet physical distancing requirements and ensure remote students can hear every word and feel engaged in class.

For teachers and lecturers, lapel and podium microphones are never necessary, allowing them to free themselves from the limitations and potential complications of conventional audio conferencing solutions. And for IT and AV support staff, Continuous system self-calibration provides optimal performance, no matter the classroom configuration or how many times you change the configuration.

“We are thrilled that our audio systems are helping Duquesne remote students receive the same quality of education that students receive in classrooms.. This is a new way of teaching and learning for most universities, and we are delighted that Duquesne continues to deploy our systems across the university”, comment “, said Nancy Knowlton., Nureva CEO.

Nureva audio systems enable these institutions to continue providing high-quality education to students by delivering advanced, full-room audio coverage in classrooms and conference rooms.. Participants in classrooms can make full use of their space, and remote students can participate and feel like they are in the room with their classmates.
