Electro-Voice launches the second generation of its ZLX series of portable speakers

The ZLX G2 line of Electro-Voice offers a wide range of features and functionality and includes two-way models of 8, 12 y 15 inches, in motorized and passive versions. They have a higher SPL than their predecessor, frequency range, durability and connectivity, as well as ergonomic improvements.

The entry point to the Electro-Voice ZLX G2 portable speaker portfolio, is based on the formula of its predecessor with higher maximum SPL, frequency range, durability and connectivity, along with a range of ergonomic improvements.

Maximum SPL has increased to 129 dB (ZLX-15P-G2) and premium components behind the grille ensure the ZLX G2 offers optimal acoustic performance for everyday use. The woofer and compression driver in each model are coupled to an SST-ported waveguide (synchronized signal transducers) patented, which improves low frequency extension and provides uniform vertical and horizontal coverage across all frequencies, all while allowing for a more compact form factor.

Smart control and connectivity

The motorized versions of the ZLX G2 are developed by Dynacord, Integrated premium electronics from Electro-Voice's sister brand. Ultra-efficient Class D power amplifier modules from 1000 W feature an integrated four-channel, three-input digital mixer with high-quality effects.

The mixer includes two XLR/TRS combo connectors and provides phantom power of 24 V and Hi-Z compatibility. The mixer also includes professional features such as AFS (automatic feedback suppression), attenuation, compression and speaker delay settings.

There are five system mode settings available: Music, Live, Speaks, club and FRFR (full range, flat response). The latter offers a flat/neutral frequency response to produce accurate results when used with modeling processors and guitar cab simulators..

A variety of mounting accessories are available to permanently install ZLX G2 models: A 'U' style wall bracket allows mounting 12" and 15" models vertically or horizontally; a pole-mount style long arm wall bracket for the 12” and 15” versions allows for vertical mounting with tilt adjustment; a pole mount style short arm wall bracket for the 8” version allows for vertical mounting.
