When a venue is in a city famous for its nightlife, It is essential to find a way to stand out from the rest. Some establishments opt for modernity, with elegant and futuristic decoration and even laser lighting. However, The Sylvester has opted for a retro design, reminiscent of an American porch from the mid-19s 60, and all accompanied by a striking sound that offers a E11EVEN Sound system by DAS Audio.
As its general director explains, Sean McCusker, The Sylvester has become a meeting place for local industry since it opened its doors five years ago. “Before it was called Bardot and it was more of a nightclub. The sound system was not adequate for the atmosphere we wanted to create.. It didn't attract people. When you fight with the sound system every day, It's time to renew it.".
Updating that sound system posed a challenge since it is a space with a long hallway and a very uneven sound distribution.. “There were dead zones where you couldn't hear anything and others where people were shouting to be able to hear each other.". The system also had to be versatile to adapt to each moment. “During the day we have an audience that wants to chat informally. At night, “We have DJs and the place is packed”, comments McCusker.
McCusker contacted John Fiorito, National Director of Hospitality and Nightclub Sales at DAS Audio, which helped him design a system that fit the new profile of The Sylvester.
Supplied by Randy White of Washington Music Center and installed by 305OF from Miami, The new system is made up of 12 E11EVEN systems 10 inches and 4 subwoofer with double speaker 18 inches ESBR218 that provide bass reinforcement. Four two-way DAS Audio systems Artec-326 and a couple of DECO-6-TB ceiling speakers They cover the entrance and toilets. Los E1EVEN's EP EP amplifiers Sound feed the system and the processing is carried out with a single DSP Integral-88 by DAS Audio.
“People don't come here just for the food and drink., but by experience", McCusker concludes.. “They come to meet friends, to meet people and create memories. Music is an important part of the business. It has to sound good from anywhere in the room.. “We knew the reputation of E11EVEN Sound and that is why DAS Audio was our first choice”.
