The Bassement club renews its digital audio equipment with Allen & Heath
The new audio equipment, based on solutions Allen & Heath, includes a dLive C1500 digital mixing console with a DM0 MixRack and Dante and DXLink cards, three DX168 units, two DX012 units and one AHM-64 unit equipped with Dante.
He Basely, an electronic music and performance club, has replaced its equipment to incorporate an advanced digital audio management system made up of audio equipment Allen & Heath, brand distributed by Audio-Technica Iberia.
It is a half-capacity concert hall located in the heart of Madrid's leisure area., next to the Chamberí neighborhood (Madrid). With a thousand square meters of surface divided into two areas, It has become the meeting point for musicians and artists, as well as anyone who wants to enjoy a unique experience in a specially decorated space equipped with a totally innovative audio and lighting system..
Newly installed audio equipment includes a dLive C1500 digital mixing console with a MixRack DM0 and cards Dante y DXLink, three DX168 units, two DX012 units and one AHM-64 unit equipped with Dante.
“The installation has not posed any problems as such. It has been decided to use the AHM-64 as a crossover, so I would add functionalities that would make my life easier but I understand that the AHM-64 has the use it has.. For me, euroblock connectors are useless and I would cancel them completely, but I understand that it is a space issue, money and that in other types of facilities they can be essential”, comments Adriano Masián, technical director of the club and responsible for the installation.
Once installation is complete and after a break-in period, Adrian says he is satisfied with the results. “The systems work very well and are stable. I haven't had any problems, neither with the dLive table nor with the AHM-64. The table is easy to use and very intuitive. For my personal taste, I think maybe it has a sound that is too crystalline; this, which for concerts is very good, but perhaps for electronic music I would like to have a little more bass, but it's all a matter of getting used to it. The DX stage boxes have worked perfectly for me and in all the live music performances I have had with various musicians they have fulfilled their function perfectly”.
The AHM-64 is a matrix audio processor 64×64 for installation, which offers 12×12 Local analog I/O and network audio I/O port up to 128 x 128. It uses a 96kHz FPGA core with ultra-low latency and has 64 configurable processing outputs, mono zones / stereo or speaker processing.
DX012 it's a audio expander which has 12 XLR outputs and AES functionality for dLive and SQ Series. Offers resolution of 96 kHz, for Allen digital mixing systems & Heath. It is configurable as 12 analog line outputs, 8 analog line outputs + 4 AES stereo outputs, o 4 analog line outputs + 8 AES stereo outputs.
connects, via a single Cat5e cable, to a dLive surface, un MixRack dLive, an SQ mixer or send signal flow to a DX expander through a secure EtherCon port, and its second EtherCon port allows redundant connection to compatible hardware, or to connect in series and send signal flow to a DX expander, for additional remote I/O.
DX168 is a rugged portable expander that allows you to add remote I/O to dLive Class S and Class C systems. Incorporates 16 microphone preamplifiers with independent phantom power indicators and 8 line outputs via XLR connections.
It is possible to connect up to 6 DX168 units to a single dLive system – 4 via MixRack and 2 through the control surface – allowing up to 96 remote inputs and 48 remote exits, in addition to those supplied by the MixRack and the control surface.
With a format of only 4U, DM0 is dLive's most compact MixRack, and is aimed at distributed audio applications and digital splits. Hosts a complete XCVI processing core with audio I/O, and control and audio network ports.
Can be controlled with a dLive surface, using a laptop or iPad, Allen IP Remote Controllers & Heath or third-party controllers, via TCP/IP. The unit offers 128 input channels, 64 mix outputs and 16 RackExtra FX.
