Hippotizer servers power the 'Christmas story'’ del hotel The Queens
On the facade of this hotel, located in the English city of Leeds, could be seen, for ten days, a videomapping that gave life to the song 'Los 12 Christmas days'. To carry it out, two Hippotizer Karst+ MK2 multimedia servers and seven HD projectors were used. Panasonic.
A touching Christmas story told through projected animations, and driven by Hippotizer servers of Green Hippo, could be seen on the façade of the hotel The Queens from the English city of Leeds.
The animation ‘To Leeds, With Love‘ (A Leeds, with love) came to the city thanks to the Leeds Business Improvement District (LeedsBID). This is a new version of the song 'Los 12 Christmas days', in which a gingerbread man appears who has the mission of decorating the hotel for a festive event.
Of the servidores multimedia Hippotizer Karst+ MK2 they have fed the video, that could be seen between the 12 and the 22 December, at the front of the historic hotel through seven projectors Panasonic: cinco RQ50K, and RQ25K and a RZ21K. Another RQ50K was stored outside the hotel as a backup in case of a hardware problem.. They were located in two towers 7,5 meters high, built in Leeds town square, in front of the hotel building. This is the second consecutive year that this videomapping has been carried out at the hotel..
Pro Audio Systems (NOT) has been in charge of coordinating and supplying all the technical aspects of the installation, y Motion Mapping to supply Hippotizer Karst+ MK2 media servers (one active and one backup) for installation.
“The Karst+ MK2 media servers provided more than enough power and outputs for this installation despite their compact size., “which was necessary to fit them in the small control cabin of the place”, explains Chris Beardwell NOT, who worked on the technical aspects of the projection.
PAS has surveyed the specification, supply and installation of all projectors, the network connection, playback and control, as well as an important audio system. His team was instrumental in the design of the video systems to ensure content was projected seamlessly onto the “canvas” from the Queens Hotel and achieve full coverage with optimal shine.
“We hire the services of specialists in Autoplot laser mapping to scan the building and obtain an accurate model of The Queens hotel, that could be sent to content creators to allow optimal content design”, Beardwell adds.. “Using the laser scanner and the subsequently produced model, we were able to use the software Shape from Green Hippo to know precisely the position, the coverage and combination areas of the projectors before arriving at the site”.
In the hotel's improvised technical room, the Motion Mapping team aligned all the projectors using Shape. “It allowed us to align the projectors precisely to the hotel and overcome any potential problems with the model, projector location or unexpected last-minute change using its advanced feature set”, comments Beardwell. “Together with Motion Mapping we program the servers to play the content through various presets and to accept external show control triggers using Multicontroller.
‘To Leeds, With Love‘ It has been written by the screenwriter of Yorkshire Lisa Holdsworth and narrated by the actor The Hobbit y North and Sur Richard Armitage. The screening is a collaboration between LeedsBID and the Barcelona-based creative studio Onions, with the support of Victoria Leeds and Pro Audio Systems.
