Matrox ConvertIP SDM

Panasonic Connect will include SDM cards Matrox ConvertIP in its entire range of visual systems with AVoIP technology, thereby improving IP-based workflows on your projectors, LED screens and professional monitors.

After different tests and certifications, Matrox ConvertIP SDM cards, that are compatible with IPMX and ST open standards 2110, will be available through Panasonic starting in March 2025. These cards are compatible with Intel SDM slots found in the advanced range of LED displays, company's 4K projectors and conventional displays. This addition expands AVoIP standards options for Panasonic customers, which already include the formats SDVoE y HDBaseT.

The versatile IPMX open standard format is gaining popularity in various ProAV environments beyond traditional broadcast. Supports uncompressed streaming at 25 Gbps, ideal to offer live streams in 4K at 60 fps con baja latencia, using ST format 2110. For mid-range streaming applications, also supports bandwidths of 10 Gbps and 1 Gbps, enabling the sharing of compressed media in entertainment environments, corporate and educational with more limited network capabilities.

The Matrox ConvertIP SDM Card increases redundancy, ensuring continuity in case of signal failures, all while operating with an optimized infrastructure. Via IPMX daisy chain, multiple Panasonic devices can be connected linearly, linking the output of one device with the input of the next. This redundant design allows, in case of network failure, The system automatically switches to a backup loop without signal interruptions.

This, in addition to Drastically reduce wiring by only needing a single network cable, Ensures all devices receive the same signal. It is especially useful in digital signage applications where the same content is displayed on multiple screens., and where excess wiring is impractical and expensive.

AVoIP solutions

Panasonic is the only manufacturer to offer Intel SDM slots on its entire range of LED displays, projectors and monitors, enabling easy AVoIP integration with proprietary or third-party feature cards, like the Matrox ConvertIP SDM.

This SDM approach allows for greater communication and collaboration between multiple IP-based devices located in different locations. Besides, reduces hardware and installation costs, Minimizes network components required and reduces the amount of wiring and external power supplies, increasing flexibility and sustainability by facilitating hardware upgrades.

Hartmut Kule, European Marketing Director of Visual Systems Solutions at Panasonic Connect Europe, points out that “We have worked closely with Matrox Video to develop and test the IPMX SDM card for our SDM-compatible visual solutions., offering our clients a flexible way, reliable and economical to implement IP connectivity. We will continue to expand the format options for our clients, supporting the growing adoption of end-to-end AVoIP solutions that meet the complex needs of today's projects”.

For your part, Jochen Köhl, Director of Sales and Marketing at Matrox Video GmbH, adds that “Panasonic Visual's decision to collaborate with us on this important IPMX SDM card and offer it directly to its customers underlines the growing relevance of the IPMX format and its acceptance in the market.
