L-Acoustis Adlib auditorio Fellowship

The A series of L-Acoustics It is the core of the new audio system of this renovated venue, located in the historic English museum of Bletchley Park. An acoustic project that has surpassed the 180º radial seating arrangement to offer clear voice reproduction to each viewer.

Bletchley Park, the historic WWII museum and code-breaking site, has further enriched the experience it offers to its visitors with the inauguration of the auditorio Fellowship.

This auditorium is the latest addition to the site of the English city of Milton Keynes, and is part of a broader development that includes the Diesel House reception and the Radley Room social space, in addition to a new learning center.

Con ability to 250 seating, his unique 180º radial arrangement has presented significant acoustic challenges that have required the attention of industry experts. Adlib, certified supplier L-Acoustics, won the tender to supply the complete audio solution for this space.

How do you explain Tim Robinson, Adlib system designer, “the unique configuration of space, with seats arranged in a 180º arc around the stage, required a crystal clear voice reproduction. Being a space mainly for conferences, each seat needed one perfect intelligibility”.

He software Soundvision of L-Acoustics played a crucial role in the system design process, allowing Adlib to model and verify proposed solutions, while providing visualization tools that helped other professionals understand the final implementation.

“Soundvision has been fundamental not only for the technical modeling, but also to help everyone involved visualize the final result -Robinson says.. Power to show render 3D realists to the client and other contractors it made a big difference in communicating our vision for the space and coordinating with other professionals who are not used to working with professional speaker systems”.

The main objective of the project was to ensure that the sound came directly in front of each listener, instead of being biased towards one ear or the other. This led to an innovative approach with a single source monaural system.

The installation consists of six L-Acoustics A10i Wide speakers constant curvature, arranged horizontally, that provide the necessary 180º coverage, which are complemented by two subwoofers compactos KS21i.

The system is powered by LA4X and LA2Xi amplified controllers, providing precise control and optimal performance across the entire frequency range. The horizontal configuration, that facilitate the elements of rigging A10i-Lift and various connection plates, ensures uniform coverage throughout the space.

“We knew that a fixed-curvature line source would be perfect for this application,” adds Robinson.. The A10i Wide coverage pattern was just what we needed, and its compact size allowed us to achieve excellent results without cluttering the space. He adjustable high frequency pattern control was especially useful for managing ceiling reflections, and optional front displays were specified to minimize the visual impact of the system.”.

While speech intelligibility has been the main objective of the Fellowship auditorium project, Robinson points out that “it has exceeded expectations in both performance and versatility”.
