RA con Disguise y ASB GlassFloor

Disguise y ASB GlassFloor close a strategic alliance that turns the stadium floor into a fully customizable interactive digital surface. This will allow coaches to view ball tracking data, as well as the live positions of the players, movement speed and performance metrics directly on the playing surface.

Technology will also allow more venues to become multipurpose entertainment spaces, by offering experiences of augmented reality (RA) on the ground, like interactive games, to fans and advertisers during the break.

For this, ASB GlassFloor operating system for digital track, Glasscourt OS, connects directly to Disguise servers. Adopting the Disguise environment means that, in addition to GLASSCOURT OS solutions, ASB GlassFloor now allows all venues to use Disguise servers to directly stream interactive content to the floor.

The manufacturer's media server technology has already helped teams like the Portland Trail Blazers become the first NBA team to stream augmented reality graphics from a wearable camera, and has earned the trust of some of the world's largest stadiums and entertainment venues to power their viewing experiences.. Now, that same Disguise technology will form the backbone of ASB GlassFloor's LumiFlex LED floor platform, ensuring frame-accurate UHD playback, low latency and stability, so that impressive large-scale graphics can be displayed.

As part of the collaboration, the Disguise platform will be used exclusively on all ASB Arena and Event Services floors, as well as on sports courts and ASB GlassFloor activations, including NBA All Star Weekend, the final 4 of the FIBA Basketball Champions League and the Euroleague, and at the company's own state-of-the-art facility in Orlando, el ASB Athletes Lab.

An immersive sports solution

Developed in collaboration with the NBA, he Athletes Lab will be used to showcase the technology and allow teams and customers to see the immersive sports solution in action, in addition to serving as a testing ground for future innovations. Disguise and ASB GlassFloor will also provide three full-size portable basketball courts for rental, which will be used in major sporting events in the United States and Europe this year.

El director general de ASB GlassFloor, Christof Babinsky, points out that “through initiatives like our ASB GlassFloor Athletes Lab, We've already helped NBA coaches draw plays on their iPad and see them instantly appear on the digital court, along with real-time player data. By partnering with Disguise, our goal is to go even further. Previously, We worked with Disguise on an interactive LED court at the NBA All Star Weekend in 2024 and at other events. After the enormous success of these activations, We hope to unify the AV of the venue in more LED floors, brochures, giant screens, lights and sound, so that in the future they can be controlled from a single system”.

To support this goal, ASB GlassFloor and Disguise are jointly developing a set of specifically created applications to offer fans AR games and interactive half-time experiences that they can enjoy from anywhere in the stadium. These applications will also allow venues to use the floor for training, competitions, Fan interaction and non-match day activations. From AI-assisted defenses in basketball training to traffic safety applications for children and support in larger live television productions on the weekends, integrated platform aims to drive more traffic, impact and utilization of existing stadium infrastructure.

“This partnership highlights a broader change in the sector: Sports venues are no longer static spaces that are only used on match days”, states Jake Stone, Senior Vice President of Commercial at Disguise. “Junto con ASB GlassFloor, we will help teams not only improve their performance, but also to increase your revenue by using your stadium as a programmable, always-on environment that everyone can benefit from all year round., whether for the demonstration of a branded product or the tour of a musical group. It's not just about changing the appearance of the courts or using LED floors as a novelty, but to redefine the use of sports infrastructure in the future”.
