Disney On Ice regresa con ‘Jump In!’, a show with Robe and Anolis solutions marked by ultraviolet light

Jump In!, rotating by 36 American cities, presents an adventure with more than 50 Disney characters brought to life through ice skating, aerial acrobatics and special effects. Chris Lamb, senior director of lighting and sound at Feld Entertainment, has collaborated with the lighting designer Nick Whitehouse and the director of the show Adam Loosely to create one of the most ambitious displays of this show. Among other equipment, the show unfolds 90 Robe iForte moving lights for main lighting, zenith and effects, along with 20 Anolis Divine UV LED luminaires 60 that create moments marked by ultraviolet light throughout the show.

The possibilities of ultraviolet light

One of the key objectives of the lighting design was to improve the UV scenes of the show, an area with unique challenges. After testing the devices Divine 60 UV, Lamb and Whitehouse selected them for their performance and IP rating, that allows them to withstand humidity, ice and low temperatures.

Ultraviolet light effects are used in key moments for the narration of the show. For example, a scene that takes place in a cave full of bats in which Matangi and Moana appear, accompanied 16 skaters dressed in UV light-enhanced bat suits.
