“Reflection Emotion”: an SNA LED installation to connect technique and emotion at Westminster Schools
Westminster Schools, Atlanta Private Elementary and Secondary Education Center (Georgia), inaugura su Blake Innovation Center con “Reflected Emotion”, a facility designed by Fusion CI Studios with technology SNA Displays that encourages users to express their feelings.
Designed and developed by Fusion CI Studios and equipped with technology dvLED of SNA Displays, The installation serves as digital centerpiece of one high traffic room near the main entrance of the center. The system combines the real-time interactivity con generative images, allowing users to interact directly with the screen and contribute to a shared experience.
Mark Stasiuk, executive technical director of Fusion, provides more details of the installation: “Our favorite digital art installations represent images in real time, reacting to the user's touch. This installation with SNA Displays takes that concept further by allowing users to communicate to the screen how they feel. It responds with stunning color-coded images that reflect both personal and collective emotions in the space..
“Reflected Emotion” integra TouchDesigner, Unreal Engine, artificial intelligence y particle simulation to generate interactive content on the LED canvas. A kiosk with touch screen adjacent allows users to select between a range of emotions (perplexed, frustrated, creative, curious, happy and brave) o capture a selfie with an integrated camera to activate a custom visual output. In addition to individual interactions, the platform continually adds the user contributions to calculate and display a real time rendering of the collective emotional state throughout the building.
The installation is built around a screen LED Brilliant Interior of SNA Displays with a pixel pitch 1,8 mm, approximate dimensions of 3 m high by 3,6 m wide (1620 x 1920 pixels) and a total of more than 3,1 million pixels. Richard Hill, SNA Displays sales director for museums and art installations, highlights the project: “This screen has aroused great curiosity among students and staff, especially the selfie function, and will serve Westminster Schools as an inspiring platform and learning tool for many years to come.”.
