Autodesk has developed an innovative way to present LEGO product instructions in 2D and 3D through a custom iPad app powered by Inventor Publisher Mobile Viewer..

Autodesk has showcased an innovative approach to interactive LEGO World builds 2012 in Copenhagen. Digital instructions can be developed through an iPad app, created by Autodesk: Inventor Publisher Mobile Viewer, designed specifically for the event.

Autodesk Inventor Publisher software helps manufacturers explain their products accurately and with engaging two- and three-dimensional product documentation.. Offering an alternative to traditional instructions, Inventor Publisher generates interactive 3D instructions for iPad, iPhone, iPoud Couch and Android devices. By working with the LEGO group, Autodesk has developed the LEGO application using Inventor Publishing technology, helping the brand offer fans a new building experience at the LEGO World event 2012.

At LEGO World, Children of all ages will have the opportunity to use the app to see interactive three-dimensional instructions for building Brickley, the lego dragon. At any time you can stop the animation and zoom in on a part or rotate the model to see exactly which parts need to be snapped together.. – offering a new experience that unites the physical and digital worlds in a very interesting way.

LEGO's goal is to help children enjoy a tactile experience of three-dimensional instructions from the screens of their mobile devices., from which they can “touch” the LEGO bricks. By joining with Autodesk, The LEGO Group is able to explore how the impact of three-dimensional technology can improve customer experience.

Olav Gjerlufsen, director of LEGO Group, has stated that “with the increase in preference for 3D vision and the proliferation of mobile devices, We are partnering with leaders in this technology, like Autodesk, that leverages digital design to show what's possible to our clients. We are excited to offer the experience of interactive instructions and interacting with LEGO bricks., to our fans at LEGO World”.
