Sonar 2014 will feature the presentation of Despacio, an immersive listening experience that focuses on the audience

Despacio is an immersive sound experience that will take place at the International Festival of Advanced Music and New Media Art in Barcelona next June and will have the technological support of McIntosh.

Despacio powered by McIntosh will present at the International Festival of Advanced Music and New Media Art (Sonar 2014), which will be celebrated from 12 al 14 June in Barcelona, a soundsystem designed by the leader of LCD Soundsystem, James Murphy, and New York sound engineer John Klett, of Tech Mecca.

It is an experience designed to preserve and celebrate the way of listening to music in clubs.. Slowly move the focus from the stage to the track, so that the protagonists are the audience and the auditory immersion.

The soundsystem consists of a team of seven three-meter-high speaker towers and amplifiers arranged in a circle., that allow total auditory immersion. James, David and Stephen will place their set in a dark corner, in the background, for his three sessions of 6 hours in Sónar by Day. Three sessions in which they will take high fidelity sound to its maximum expression with three DJs who will only play vinyl.

To realize this ambitious vision of James Murphy and John Klett, They have the participation of McIntosh as a technological partner.
