Daktronics is installing the largest format and resolution screen located in a university at Kile Field
As part of the remodeling project that the Texas A & M University is performing at its Kile Field football stadium, Daktronics is installing the visual infrastructure consisting of a 1080p large format display, of auxiliary displays, five tape systems and six street furniture units.
Texas A & M University is currently in the middle of a project 450 million dollars to remodel Kyle Field football stadium, located on the College Station campus (Texas), in order to expand its capacity and be able to accommodate 102.500 aficionados. It is expected that the works will be completed in time for the celebration of the season of 2015.
Audiovisual equipment is one of the elements that has been considered in this restructuring and Daktronics has been the company selected to be in charge of the implementation. The key element of this technological infrastructure will be a large format LED screen that will have dimensions of 14,3 meters high by 49,7 meter wide and will offer a resolution of 1080p.
“As part of the restructuring of Kyle Field, it was of utmost importance to find the best technology available to offer Texas A fans.&“M Aggies provided the best gaming experience and the Daktronics solutions were the ones that provided us with the best features to respond to our requirements.”, comenta Eric Hyman, athletics director.
The screen will be located in the southern area and will incorporate the most innovative LED technology to display large format images with a high degree of clarity., cons and sharpness, in addition to offering a wide-angle display thanks to its 13H pixel design. In this way, It will be possible to highlight live images and show replays of the plays, either on screen or in a window, while in another or others statistics can be offered in real time, graphics or different sponsorships.
Accompanying this big screen, Daktronics will also install two more that will be located at the north end of Kyle Field. Each of them will have a 15HD pixel design and will have measurements of 11 meters high by 16,4 meters wide.
Besides, Daktronics will provide five individual ribbon screens that will be placed around the seats. They will have a 15HD pixel design and will measure about one meter high with a length that will vary between 48,7 and the 155 metros. These displays will offer statistics and game information in real time, at the same time they will serve as support for event sponsors to place their advertisements.
In the new Hall of Champions at Kyle Field, a screen will be located 6 millimeters measuring more than 4,5 meters wide by 8,5 meters high where content will be played for the most Aggie fans.
Texas A & M has also ordered six six-millimeter Street Furniture units from Daktronics that will measure five feet tall by 1,2 wide and that were strategically placed on the outside, near busy roads to improve wayfinding and generate pre-match excitement.
“This multi-screen system composed of a 1080p computer, auxiliary video displays, “Individual tapes and street furniture units will provide Kyle Field with a very dynamic audiovisual infrastructure.”, explains Dan Fjeldheim of Daktronics.
To complete the project, Daktronics will also provide its Show Control System tool which offers a combination of display control software, video processing, integration of data and playback hardware.
