Projection with dynamic illustrations on the fiftieth anniversary of the BT Tower in London
The Projection Artworks specialist, in collaboration with British illustrator Toby Triumph, have been chosen to create a spectacular projection to commemorate fifty years of the BT Tower, one of the symbols of London, which maintains the cylindrical structure of the construction and is located at its main entrance.
The well-known BT Tower, in the center of London, It is one of the emblems of the capital of the United Kingdom that celebrates the fifty years of its construction next October. Cylindrical in structure and with a total area of 189 meters high, This building has had several names such as the post office tower, that of London and that of telecommunications.
To commemorate the anniversary of its five decades, its managers have selected the technology of Projection Artworks to create a spectacular dynamic projection that has featured illustrations by artist Toby Triumph, displayed on a curved surface, following the architectural lines of the tower, located at its entrance to welcome visitors.
With the message '50 ingenious years' as the main element of the projection-illustration, monuments and icons of London follow one another, from the popular red telephone booth or the double-decker bus, to St Paul's Anglican Cathedral. Each icon, as a color canvas, light and movement, represents a moment in the history of the emblematic tower, with projected writing that details events that occurred in the same.
In this sense, highlights the projected illustration of the famous Twitter symbol, present because Prince Harry made his first tweet from the tower; or popular Trivial questions with impressive statistics, such as the 3.500 sporting events per year whose signals have been transmitted to radio stations, international production companies and satellite services from this telecommunications tower, as well as the leading role in BT and technological innovation.
As the brand manager at BT explains, Ian Shaw, “BT Tower has been a unique feature of the City of London for fifty years, and that is why we wanted to create an eye-catching show with attractive content that would show the rich history of this building as an icon of technological innovation.. “The Projection Artworks project shows all our visitors that the tower is still very much a working example of BT technology today.”.
