The Malaga City Council attended the 4K-UHD Summit 2016 to present the Polo Digital project

Mario Cortes, deputy mayor of the Innovation and New Technologies Area of ​​the council, was in charge of publicizing this incubator of digital content companies of Promálaga.

He Malaga City Council has participated in the second edition of the world summit on Ultra High Definition and audiovisual technology, 4K-UHD Summit, that has been celebrated in Seville on the days 10 y 11 November.

This participation has been represented by Mario Cortés, deputy mayor of the Innovation and New Technologies Area of ​​the council, who has come to present the Digital Pole, a project that will open its doors in a few months and for which the City Council has made a strong commitment.

This innovation and technology space will be located in Tabacalera (Málaga), and will have more than 6.000 square meters for innovative activities that consolidate the city at the technological forefront. It will have students, photography professionals, the audiovisual sector, video games, software, the architecture, etc.

In his speech Mario Cortés was accompanied by Antonio Quirós, executive director of Promálaga, the municipal company that will be in charge of launching the Digital Pole and supporting the project with improvements to the platform digitalmalaga.com. In addition, will be responsible for coordinating the consulting mechanisms and promoting the dynamism of a project that seeks to train new professionals as well as attract and create new companies in the field of the digital industry..

Some of the companies that will occupy Polo Digital also showed their services at the 4K-UHD Summit. This is the case of VR Arcade, a pioneering virtual reality company from Malaga that was in Seville showing its projects and inviting attendees to experiment with its products.

Digital economy

The project foresees a business hub that will be configured as a promotion center for the digital content sector in which actions will be carried out at the service of the common good., of the improvement of living conditions, accessibility and digital participation, as well as data analysis processes, the promotion of talent, entrepreneurship, the growth, the consolidation and internationalization of the digital economy industry in Malaga.

It will be composed of an incubator and various rooms and laboratories equipped with the latest technology in 3D animation., computing and graphic design to provide monitoring services, internationalization and capital acceleration for companies, cooperatives, citizen groups or associations that will have access to spaces equipped with technological equipment and the training provided.

Training in digital economy, which will be aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, will also play a key role in this project.
