The Sony RSA Cosmos coupule

The French Planetarium The Dome It is the first in the world with 10K 3D technology, thanks to the projectors Sony and astronomical software RSA Cosmos, to offer a 'journey'’ immersive through the universe.

The historical memory center The Dome Planetarium, located in the North of France, now offers a surprising and immersive experience to its visitors, with a 'trip’ through the universe in an innovative 360° environment thanks to projectors with native 4K resolution VPL-GTZ380 of Sony.

This digital dome, of 15 meters high, will have twelve Sony 4K VPL-GTZ380 projectors to offer spectacular real-time and 3D images with the best levels of brightness and contrast.

The VPL-GTZ380 projectors provide a brightness of 10.000 lumens thanks to a laser light source, while the panels 4K SXRD provide the contrast levels necessary to create a truly immersive experience.

In collaboration with RSA Cosmos, the planetarium has decided to install the latest version of its astronomical software SkyExplorer 2021 y, in combination with the latest projection technology, is now capable of rendering and delivering images with incredible quality and resolution.

At the moment, The La Coupole planetarium can reach a brightness of 120.000 lumens and play the most complex content with the best level of rendering.

“The objective of this modernization project was to achieve an image quality that we no longer had.. Thanks to Sony projectors we can enjoy a sky with a magnificent level of detail, splendid colors and great contrast”, points out Nicolas Violet, responsible for the 3D planetarium of La Coupole.

To offer the best audiovisual and interactive experience to visitors at all times, RSA Cosmos has also installed new seats, equipped with your public response system.

Each armrest features a control panel that allows the public to participate in trivia contests, select scenarios and take direct control of the camera during the simulation, which gives the sessions greater dynamism and provides a greater degree of interaction between attendees.

This is what he assures Amélie Fivey, animator of the 3D planetarium of La Coupole: “The reception from attendees has been very positive., with a lot of participation from everyone”.
