London has a new means of public transport: a cable car that crosses the Thames to 90 meters high from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the east of the British capital. Samsung has installed six video walls on the recently inaugurated Emirates Air Line, London's first cable car, offering a spectacular walk above the River Thames, near the Olympic Park, helping Games visitors avoid traffic jams on land. The cable car is located just over 91 meters high above the river and offers views of 360 degrees east of the British capital including the O2 stadium and the Canary Wharf financial district.

Video walls consist of large Large Format Display screens (LFD) of Samsung's UD series and are being used by the cable car sponsor, the Emirates company, to display content to passengers as they enter and exit cabins crossing the River Thames and connecting the Greenwich area, on the south bank right next to the O2 Arena concert hall, with the Royal Docks and Excel conference center, venue of some of the Olympic competitions.

Two UD55 3×3 screens have been installed in landscape mode at the entrances to the cable car terminals., two screens 46 3×2 in portrait mode on the doors of the lines and two UD55 8 screens×3 in portrait mode on platforms. The platform's video walls have been installed on curved walls and the project was implemented by Samsung's partner, Pioneer Group, also responsible for ongoing product management. All video walls are powered by Magenta Voyager fiber kits.

Phil Gaut, general manager of displays for Samsung UK and Ireland, has manifested: “The Emirates Air Line can carry more than 2.000 passengers per hour, giving us a unique opportunity to showcase our cutting-edge video wall solutions to a large audience of Brits., as well as international passengers during the summer period”.
