Ericsson appoints Börje Ekhol as president and CEO
The appointment will be effective on 16 January 2017 y, until then, will continue as a member of the board of directors of the Swedish company and Jan Frykhammar will remain as interim CEO.
Börje Ekholm, member of the board of directors of the multinational Ericsson, will be from 16 January 2017 the new president and CEO of this company, according to the announcement made by the president of the council Leif Johansson, who has highlighted “his solid knowledge, both technology and the business effects of the current telecommunications convergence, “information and media technologies”.
The new director assumes his appointment after being on the Ericsson management committee for the last ten years, and be CEO of Patricia Industries, a division of Investor AB.
As Johansson has pointed out, “in the midst of a major transformation of the company, I am confident that Ericsson will benefit from Börje Ekholm's unique ability to efficiently undertake strategic direction and plans.. Börje brings years of experience having led a listed company with a strong track record of delivering value to shareholders.”.
For your part, Ekholm has expressed his satisfaction “for this opportunity. “I look forward to joining the great team at Ericsson and working closely with existing and new customers around the world to shape the future of our industry.”.
