JBL technology solves acoustic problems in sports halls

The Santa María de Orense Marist School has reversed the poor coverage of its sports space with quality sound, according to the project carried out by Selas Systems.

The technology services company Saddles System, specialized in image and sound solutions, has been in charge of the sound project for the sports pavilion of the Maristas Santa María de Orense School (Colexio Maristas Santa Maria).

The poor acoustics of this Galician sports venue made it necessary to install a new sound system with controlled coverage., which has been achieved with Constant Beamwidth technology, patented by the manufacturer JBL Professional, brand of Harman that sells in the Spanish market Earpro.

For this project, Selas System has made a combination of array columns of the CBT 70J-1 and CTB 70JE-1 models of this manufacturer, which provides extended bass performance and coverage pattern, as well as higher level of sound output.

Besides, These systems incorporate Constant Beamwidth technology, patented by JBL Professional, which represents a significant advance in the consistency of pattern control, achieving superior and uniform vertical coverage, while reducing the narrow vertical beam and out-of-coverage lobes typical of passive column loudspeakers.

Thanks to its frequency and power response, These teams provide great performance, especially in environments with poor acoustics and reverberation, as frequently happens in sports halls like in this case.

An XTI2002 power stage has also been installed for the project. Crown, controlled by DSP, as well as a signal processor for ZonePro 641M model installations, with six inputs, four micro lines with Phantom and two line, along with ZC1 programmable volume control, all brand DBX, also from Harman.

For acoustic warnings in the premises, the option has been a combination with dual wireless transmission, which is made up of the SM58 handheld microphones and the SM35 headset, both of Shure. The system offers up to twelve compatible frequencies and incorporates a dual BLX88 receiver and a BLX1 bodypack transmitter..
